TENNESSEE TIDBITS

The Vols won their first true road game of the season after starting with six consecutive losses.

Tennessee leads the all-time series with the Gamecocks, 38-23.

For games in Columbia, the Vols trail the series, 14-13. The Vols have won six consecutive games played at South Carolina.

Tennessee is now riding an active 12-game win streak over South Carolina dating to 2007. The last time the Gamecocks beat the Vols was 2,185 days ago.

No player on Tennessee's roster has ever experienced losing to the Gamecocks.

This current streak over South Carolina is tied as UT's third-longest win streak over any SEC opponent -- including former league members.

The Vols have had a 17-game win streak over Mississippi State and a 15-game win streak over Georgia.

STOKES KEEPS ROLLING IN SEC

Jarnell Stokes continued his tremendous play in SEC action. He has now posted double-doubles in five straight games after he had 20 points and 10 rebounds against South Carolina.

Stokes has his second career 20-point game. The other came when he tallied 24 vs. UMass in Puerto Rico (11/18/12).

Stokes has scored in double-figures in 14 games this season and in 22 in his 39 career games at Tennessee. He has hit the double-figure mark in five consecutive games.

Stokes has double-doubles in six of the last seven games and nine on the season overall.

Over the last 20 years, only Steve Hamer (10 in 1994-95) has more double-doubles in a season. Last year, Jeronne Maymon also had nine.

With his 11 career double-doubles, Stokes is now tied for third in the SEC in career double-doubles among active players.

Stokes shares the SEC lead with 9.8 rebounds per game in league play.

GOLDEN BACK WITH GOLDEN EFFORT

Junior guard Trae Golden returned to action after missing the previous two games with a hamstring injury. Golden returned to the court and played 27 minutes. He scored 16 points and handed our two assists.

It was the most points for Golden since he also had 16 vs. Presbyterian on Dec. 18, 2012.

He scored in double-figures for the 10th time this season and 37th time in his career. He had 27 of those last season in 34 games.

Golden's first points came on a pair of free throws with 4:50 left in the first half. He added his first field goal on a fastbreak layup, 35 seconds later.

CHIEVOUS & EDWARDS CONTRIBUTE

Quinton Chievous played in his first SEC game and scored his first points in an SEC game and his first since the Memphis game on Jan. 4. The redshirt freshman finished with four points in 11 minutes before fouling out with 4:34 left in regulation. He scored on a layup with 11:35 left in the first half and added a jumper with 7:51 left in half.

Chievous' four points were more than he scored in the team's previous 15 games co,bined. He had two points vs. Memphis on Jan. 4.

Chievous was a "DNP" - Did Not Play in all nine previous conference games.

South Carolina native D'Montre Edwards also saw some rare action. He had played just a total of four minutes on conference play. He played six minutes against the Gamecocks -- four in the first half and had three rebounds.

HALL OF A DUNKER

Kenny Hall had his 15th dunk of the season to open the scoring for Tennessee. He now has 70 in his career.
