Lady Vols Seek LPGA Tour Card

As the holiday season sets in, four Lady Volunteers will be looking for an early present. The final stage (Stage III) of the LPGA Qualifying tournament, also known as Q-School, begins on Wednesday, December 4. Three former Tennessee women's golfers and one current will seek to make the cut and receive their LPGA tour card.
The Lady Vols participating in Stage III are:
- Jessica Shepley - Oakville, Ontario - Lady Vol (2001-2005)
- Nicole Smith - Riverside, Calif. - Lady Vol (2005-09) - Smith's Q&A
- Erica Popson - Davenport, Fla. - Lady Vol (2009-13) - Video Feature
- Chessey Thomas (a) - Spokane, Wash. - Current Lady Vol - Chessey's Stage II Blog
"We are very excited about next week's final stage of Q-School," Tennessee head coach Judi Pavon said. "I will be keeping a close eye on it."
The final round of Qualifying School will take place December 4 to December 8 at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Tennessee women's golf Twitter account @LadyVol_Golf will have updates throughout the Stage III of Q-School.
Note: Smith recently won the LPGA Kia Power Drive.
