KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- After a weekend in which the Tennessee women's track & field team won nine events and charted several career and season bests at the Akron Invitational, the Lady Vols have risen nine places in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Rankings.
After sitting at a season-high 17th last week, UT catapulted to No. 8 in this week's USTFCCCA Rankings, which were released Tuesday. Joining the Lady Vols in the women's top 10 are SEC foes LSU (3rd), Arkansas (4th) and Florida (7th). South Carolina is 24th.
The Lady Vols are off this weekend from competition, but they are preparing for the SEC Indoor Championships, which will be held Feb. 24-26 in Lexington, Ky.
