NORTH CAROLINA TIP-OFF
- No. 16/14 Tennessee plays its second game of the week, as No. 22/RV North Carolina comes to Knoxville for a 1 p.m. tip-off on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
- Fox Sports Network will televise the contest, with coverage expanding to Fox Sports Tennessee and Fox Sports Carolinas regionally. Local station MyVLT will simulcast.
- It will mark the first TV appearance of 2012-13 for the Big Orange.
- The Lady Vols enter with a 5-1 record, having won their last five games, while the Tar Heels bring a 7-0 mark into the matchup.
- Youth is a major theme of this meeting, as Tennessee sports only two seniors and a junior in its upper class, while North Carolina counters with three seniors and no juniors.
- UT lost all five starters, including three WNBA picks, from last year's NCAA Elite Eight squad, while UNC saw three starters and two others depart from a 20-11 club that did not make the NCAA Tournament
