THE TEXAS GAME
- This marks the 33rd meeting between the two schools (Tennessee leads 20-12) dating back to the 1978-79 season.
- With all of the national prominence generated by Tennessee and Texas throughout the years, it is amazing that the two teams have never met for an AIAW or NCAA title, or even a play-off game
- Following today's game versus Texas, the Lady Vols pack up and head out for a monster four game stretch facing a pair of BIG EAST and Pac 12 foes. First stop will be Madison Square Garden in New York City where UT takes on #22/21-ranked DePaul (5-1) on Dec. 11 in the Maggie Dixon Classic. Tennessee follows that game with a meeting at a red hot #11/12-ranked Rutgers (8-0) on their home court on Dec. 13. The Lady Vols have a day at home before traveling to Los Angeles to face UCLA (4-2) on Dec. 17. UT finishes the pre-Christmas swing at #5-ranked Stanford (5-1) on Dec. 20 before breaking for the holidays.
