OFF THE BLOCKS
1. Following two meets on the road and the Orange and White exhibition meet last week, the Tennessee Lady Vol swimming and diving team will hold its regular-season home opener on Saturday with a double dual meet against Kentucky and Indiana at 10 a.m. at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
2. The Big Orange has been dominant against Kentucky, boasting a 26-2 record against the Wildcats. Tennessee has not lost to UK since 1999 and has won the last 11 meetings.
3. Tennessee holds a 2-0 all-time record against the Hoosiers as the two squads met twice during the 2008 calendar year. UT won a dual meet over Indiana during the 2007-08 season and won the Hoosier Quad during the 2008-09 campaign.
4. The White squad prevailed at last week's Orange and White exhibition meet, as Jenny Connolly, Kelsey Floyd and Lindsay Gendron all won multiple events to lead the White squad to the victory.
5. Tennessee returns six All-Americans this season. Five current Lady Vols claimed A-A accolades in 2011, as the Big Orange finished 12th at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas.
