Knoxville, Tenn. -- University of Tennessee freshman cross country runner Amber Zimmerman took a few minutes to visit about her first collegiate race, her upcoming meet at the Commodore Classic on Sept. 18 and her transition from high school to college running.
Zimmerman was the Lady Vols' top finisher at the Belmont-VU Opener on Sept. 3, finishing 35th individually out of 120 runners in a time of 15 minutes, 25.47 seconds on the 4,000-meter Vaughn's Creek Course at Nashville's Percy Warner Park.
On Saturday, Zimmerman will join her teammates in making a return trip to the mid-state, where the Big Orange harriers are slated to run a 5,000-meter race on the same course. Start time for the women is 10 a.m. Central.
