KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - University of Tennessee diving coach Dave Parrington announced the addition of Julianne Wilson to the Lady Vol diving program on Tuesday.
Wilson, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., earned high school All-America accolades in her senior and junior seasons at Girls Preparatory School and was the Tennessee State Champion on the 1-meter dive in 2010 and 2007. She also set the 1-meter school record (497.40) during her senior campaign.
"Julianne is an excellent student, who is an extremely talented diver with exceptional athletic ability, but has shared her athleticism with track, dance and cheerleading, while still managing to be the 2010 Tennessee State High School Champion and a high school All-American," Parrington said.
"I am excited she will now be devoting all of her competitive juices towards diving, which bodes well for the Lady Vol swimming and diving team."
Named the Girls Preparatory School Headmaster's Athlete of the Year in 2010, she is also a three-time All-American in cheerleading and holds the school record in the high jump.
Wilson becomes the 10th member of the Lady Vols' incoming freshmen class, joining fellow high school All-Americans Courtney Ciesielski, Alexandra Frasier, Lindsey Gendron, Molly Hannis, Kennedy Higdon, Mary Kate McNeilis, Caroline Reeves, Grace Anne Sanderson and Lauren Solernou.
