KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - After her stellar efforts on the boards at the Tennessee Invitational, the Southeastern Conference has named junior Gabrielle Trudeau as the league's Diver of the Week.
Last Thursday, Trudeau was the only Lady Vol to make it to 3-meter diving finals on day one of the UT Invite, winning the prelims with a score of 278.30. In the finals, the Montreal, Canada, native grabbed the top spot in event with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 280.60.
With the tally, she has now qualified for zones on both boards.
Day two was very similar for her, as she again won the preliminary round, this time on the 1-meter, and didn't let anyone surpass her in the finals. Trudeau won the event and swept the boards with a zone score of 277.90.
Trudeau becomes the second Big Orange diver to garner the honor, as redshirt freshman Tori Lamp won the award on Oct 26 for her performances against Louisville. Lamp swept the board events versus the Cardinals with first-place zone scores.
The divers are off until the New Year, returning to action on Jan. 3-5, when they host the Tennessee Diving Invitational at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. The No. 11 ranked Lady Vols will resume dual meet competition on Jan. 8 when No. 9 Virginia invades Rocky Top.
