Magnuson Wraps Up World Championships on 4x100m Medley Relay

ROME - Former Tennessee star Christine Magnuson wrapped up her performance at the 2009 FINA World Championships by helping the 4x100m medley relay place 10th on Saturday at the Foro Italico.
Magnuson joined Elizabeth Pelton, Kasey Carlson and Julia Smit on the relay which clocked a time of 3:59.01 in the prelims to miss making the finals by a half-second.
The Tinley Park, Ill., native also competed in the 50m fly (15th), the 100m fly (10th) and on the 4x100m free relay (fourth) in Rome.
In July, Magnuson won her second consecutive 100m fly national title at the ConcoPhillips USA National Championships.
She owns the American record in the 100m fly after clocking a 57.08 swim in the semifinals at the Beijing Olympics. She followed her American record performance by swimming a 57.10 in the finals to claim the silver medal. Magnuson also won a silver medal on the 4x100m medley relay in Beijing.
