The Southeastern Conference on Tuesday tabbed sensational Tennessee diver Ryan Helms the conference's Diver of the Week for the third consecutive week. Helms swept the diving competition against Kentucky last Friday to remain undefeated on the season.
After posting his season-high on the one-meter against Louisville, Helms raised the bar a bit higher again in the Vols' win over Kentucky. With a 346.80 mark, he is now ranked third in the conference on the one-meter springboard.
But the highlight of the Kentucky dual meet was his performance on the three-meter. Behind a collegiate-meet high (418.58), Helms won the three-meter event and remained perfect on the season. This score leads the conference.
Through the three weeks of the 2009-10 season, Helms boasts a sterling 6-0 record and has earned the SEC Diver of the Week accolade three times.
