Addy Voted SEC Field Athlete of the Year

Tennessee team captain Jangy Addy has been named SEC Field Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Addy won the heptathlon at the SEC Indoor Championships for the second straight year with a personal-best score of 5,836 points that ranks third on Tennessee???s all-time performance list in the event and third in the NCAA this season. His score is ranked ninth all-time among American collegians in the heptathlon. His performance also featured a world-record tying time of 7.77 in the heptathlon 60 hurdles.
The senior from Norcross, Ga., also enters the NCAA Indoor Championships with the fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles. His 7.67 clocking from the preliminaries at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational ties him with Willie Gault for third on Tennessee???s all-time performance list in the event. He finished third in the event at the conference championship meet with a time of 7.77. Addy also recorded a personal-best and NCAA provisional-qualifying leap of 24-8 1/4 while winning the collegiate section of the long jump at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
Addy and the rest of the second-ranked Vols travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend.
