When people ask me how it feels to be a student-athlete at Tennessee, I honestly don't have to think about the answer. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me.
It feels amazing to be a swimmer at the UT. I just cannot imagine doing anything else. If I wasn't swimming, I wouldn't know what to do with all my extra time.
I believe everything that we do on the Lady Vol swimming and diving team serves a purpose. I know waking up at 5:10 a.m. almost every day is for a reason. That reason is to be the best!
The journey to where I am right now was not an easy path. I had to learn how to be a better athlete. I had to be willing to sacrifice and willing to practice more yardage, more turns and more starts than other swimmers.
Being a Lady Vol is very special for me. Since I have become a part of the team, I have learned how to train with excellence and determination. We do not do things ordinary, we do them extraordinary and we are not afraid of challenges. We all want to be the best swimmers and divers in the country - and that is the reason we do what we do every day, working hard, waking up early and practicing passionately - to be the best. Working hard is the nature of the Lady Vols.
