Tennessee junior Charlie Ford recently was named a PING Division I All-America honorable mention by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Ford was one of the Vols' most consistent players all season, leading the team with four top-10 finishes and a 72.83 stroke average. Most recently, Ford was UT's top scorer at the NCAA Championships with a 23rd-place finish at even-par 210.
"Our staff is very proud of Charlie Ford," coach Jim Kelson said. "He is undoubtedly one of the most conscientious young men that I have ever coached. He is certainly deserving of such an award, and we are just thrilled that Charlie was named to the 2007 All-America team.
Ford becomes the first UT golfer named to the All-America team since three-time selection David Skinns made the third team in 2005.
Ford was one of 29 golfers named honorable mention.
