LeRoy Finishes 2nd on Three-Meter Board

AUSTIN, Texas ??? Senior diver Lauren LeRoy finished second from the three-meter board at the Texas Invitational this evening. Her score of 268.60 in the prelims placed her eighth, but her 298.70 in the finals gave her the runner-up position.
???In the prelims today, Lauren battled and competed hard to squeak into the finals by finishing eighth,??? head diving coach Dave Parrington said. ???One of the objectives of this meet was to compete hard under tough circumstances. There was a lot of diving which wore the divers down pretty good. The others also did a fantastic job and competed against some tough divers. I???m really pleased with where we are right now.???
Senior Vicky Linnell was 16th in the prelims with a score of 241.15. Junior Staley McCartney was 27th with 205.25 points, while freshman Jill Pierce was 28th with 202.95 points.
Tomorrow???s diving competition will begin at 12:30 p.m. C.T.
