Vols Upset OSU, 3-2, UCLA Match Suspended

The Tennessee men???s golf team defeated No. 5 seed Oklahoma State 3-2 Sunday in the first round of the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championships to advance to the second round versus No. 4 UCLA. The second-round match was suspended due to darkness with UCLA leading four of the matches.
Played at Reynolds Plantation Country Club in Greensboro, Ga., the second round will resume at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time Monday with third-round matches to follow.
Philip Pettitt defeated Oklahoma State???s Rickie Fowler 4 and 3 at the No. 1 position. The Murfreesboro native never trailed but saw his lead fall to two holes before taking back his lead with four holes to go.
Chris Paisley gave Tennessee a 2-0 lead with a victory over Oklahoma State???s Kevin Tway 3 and 2. Charlie Ford secured the victory for the Volunteers with a come-from-behind victory against Oklahoma State???s Trent Leon 3 and 2. Ford was trailing the first nine holes but turned it around on the front nine to earn the victory.
Oklahoma State???s Trent Whitekiller defeated UT???s Ben Spickard 5 and 3 while OSU???s Mark Johnson defeated Tennessee???s David Holmes 3 and 2, giving Oklahoma State its two matches.??
Coastal Carolina, Florida, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama all came away with victories in the first round. All second-round matches were suspended due to darkness.
