VOLS GUSTAFSON, DAUW NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT IV

Tennessee senior swimmers Tyler Gustafson and Casey Dauw have been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV men.s at-large team.
Gustafson was selected to the first-team based on a 3.81 GPA. His selection to the first-team Gustafson eligible for inclusion on the Academic All-America ballot, the results of which will be released next month.
The senior from Harrisonburg, Va., also excelled in the pool for the Vols. He is a 10-time All-America with four of those awards coming in 2006 in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay. Gustafson also was a participant on the second-place 200 free relay at the 2006 SEC championships while scoring in the 50-, 100- and 200-freestyle events. He was a 2006 team captain and 2005 UT Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Gustafson is a four-time Academic All-SEC honoree and was named 2005 CSCAA Academic All-America. He has been a four-year member of the National Collegiate Scholar Athlete Society.
Dauw was named second-team at-large for his efforts in the classroom. He boasts a 3.64 GPA in microbiology and hails from St. Charles, Ill. Dauw was a 2006 team captain and a five-time All-America with one award coming in the 800 free relay at the 2006 NCAA championships. Dauw is a three-time Academic All-SEC honoree as well as being named Academic All-America by the CSCAA.
