LADY VOLS' WARD NOT COMPETING IN SEA RAY RELAYS HEPTATHLON

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- After experiencing pain in her right knee at practice the day before, University of Tennessee senior Caitlin Ward was scratched Wednesday from the Sea Ray Relays heptathlon as a precautionary measure, the UT staff announced.

Ward, from Gibsonia, Pa., was hoping to improve on a fifth-place performance a year ago at this meet. She will now turn her focus toward getting healthy for the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships, which will be held May 11-12 in Fayetteville, Ark.
