FOUR LADY VOLS GARNER ALL-AMERICA ACCLAIM AT NCAA INDOORS

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Led by Cleo Tyson.s three All-America certificates, the University of Tennessee women collected a sum of seven honors at the recent 2006 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
Tyson, a sophomore from Huntsville, Texas, was one of four Lady Volunteers to earn national distinction for top-eight placings at the NCAA meet. She collected accolades for taking fifth in the 60-meter dash and ninth (one of the top eight Americans) in the 200 meters, and was a member of Tennessee.s sixth-place 4x400m relay team. Tyson now has eight A-A citations in only a year and a half at Rocky Top.
Senior Patricia Hall (St. Ann, Jamaica) registered two All-America performances to bring her career total of kudos to five. Hall was third in the 400 meters and ran a leg on UT.s 4x400m relay. Also earning recognition for their efforts on the relay were sophomores Courtney Champion (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and LaTonya Loche (Bastrop, La.). Champion now has six career All-America nods, while Loche has five.
