PRITCHETT NAMED SEC RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Matthieu Pritchett was named SEC Runner of the Week by the conference on Wednesday. The sophomore from Enka-Candler, N.C., won the 60 meter dash at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., over the weekend with a time of 6.85. Pritchett's most impressive performances, however, came before the finals.
In the prelims and semifinals, he finished second to teammate Rubin Williams and ran season-best times in each race. In the prelims, Pritchett ran a 6.81 and then in the semifinal race, he crossed the tape in 6.80, to lower his season-best time twice in one evening.
Pritchett will run next at the SEC indoor championships in Gainesville, Fla., this weekend. He, along with Williams, is scheduled to compete in the 55 dash for the Volunteers.
