The Tennessee men's swimming and diving team has added another swimmer to the 2005 signing class with the signing of Lawrenceville, Ga. native Scott Wherry.
"Scott comes to Tennessee with a nice range of events, ranging from the 50 through the 500 freestyle events," Trembley said. "He has impressive physical attributes and according to his coach, Chris Davis of Swim Atlanta, Scott thrives on competition and will be the perfect fit for our team, training style and university."
His top times include 21.49 in the 50 free, 46.50 in the 100 free, 1:40.78 in the 200 free and 4:35.50 in the 500 free. Wherry owns six school records at Collins High School. He is a two-time All-America with a Georgia state championship crown in the 100 free. Wherry is a two-time Gwinnett swimmer of the year.
Wherry's signing adds to an impressive 2005 class already set in place.
