LADY VOL HEAD SWIMMING COACH DAN COLELLA RESIGNS

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.-- University of Tennessee Women's Athletics Director Joan Cronan announced today that she has accepted the immediate resignation of Lady Vol Head Swimming Coach Dan Colella.
"We are grateful for Dan's contributions to the program over the last 15 years," Cronan said. "I especially appreciate his dedication to the Lady Vol family."
Cronan said a search for a successor will begin immediately.
Colella had been involved with the Lady Vol swimming program since 1990. He started out as an assistant (1990-93) and assumed the head coaching duties in 1993.
During his tenure, Tennessee swimmers claimed 143 All-America citations and his teams perennially achieved success in the classroom.
