KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee fans and members of the media wishing to welcome home the 2005 NCAA Indoor Track & Field champion Lady Volunteers may do so on Sunday night, March 13, as the team arrives at 7:50 p.m. Eastern time at McGhee-Tyson Airport.
Head Coach J.J. Clark's squad, which began the season ranked No. 1 and entered the meet as the favorite, tallied 46 points to claim the program's first-ever NCAA title in track & field Saturday night in Fayetteville, Ark. The victory is also the seventh all-time NCAA triumph by a UT women's team, joining the six won by Lady Vol basketball.
