VOL GOLFERS FINISH TIED FOR SEVENTH AT CARPET CAPITAL COLLEGIATE

Rocky Face, Ga. - The Tennessee men's golf team shot the third best final round score Sunday to move up four positions and place seventh at the Carpet Capital Collegiate held at The Farm.
Jonathan Mount and Ben Spickard led the way for the Volunteers with each player scoring a four-over par 220 to finish tied for 22nd in the tournament. Mount and Spickard both shot below par Sunday with Mount recording a 71 and Spickard finishing his third round at two-under par 70.
Philip Pettitt was next for the Volunteers finishing the tournament with a scorecard of 75-74-72--221. Pettitt also shot his best round of the tournament Sunday, shooting an even-par 72. The UT sophomore finished the tournament in a tie for 34th place.
Lloyd Campbell finished the tournament with a scorecard reading 78-69-76--223 to finish in a tie for 45th place. Campbell's second round score of 69 was the best for any Volunteer all weekend.
Tino Weiss finished the tournament in a tie for 69th place. Weiss's final round score of 74 was his best of the weekend. Overall, four of Tennessee's five golfers shot its best round on Sunday.
The Volunteers will be in action next when they travel to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., to participate in The Hooter's Collegiate Match Play. Tennessee received a No. 8 seed for the tournament and plays the No. 9 seed Georgia State in the first round, Fri., Nov. 11.
