VOLS SET TO SPLASH-OFF FRIDAY AT ALABAMA

The Tennessee men's swimming and diving team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., Friday for a 1 p.m. start against the Crimson Tide in a Southeastern Conference battle.
"We travel to face a very formidable opponent in Alabama," UT head coach John Trembley said. "This will be a great and challenging road test for a very young Tennessee Volunteer team."
The Vols look to add to their 16-9 series record over Alabama dating back to their first meeting in 1968 in which the Tide won in their home pool. Tennessee last faced the Crimson Tide in 1997 in Tuscaloosa, winning 158-76.
"We have had many great competitions against this traditional opponent," Trembley added. "We know Friday will be a tough battle which we hope will go the way of the Big Orange."
