Swimmers Post Solid First Day at UNLV Invitational

The No. 11 Tennessee men's swimming and diving team produced some good times Saturday during a training trip to the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas.
Junior Jason Thomas had the top individual score with his second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:33.04.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Josh Fulton, Kiel Huston, Andrew Engle and Tyler Gustafson finished second in 3:22.23.
The 200-yard free style relay also had a top-5 finish. The team of Octavio Alesi, Brad Duryea, Fulton and Gustafson finished third in 1:22.86.
Alesi is making his Volunteer debut this weekend. Alesi also finished 13th in the 50-yard free in 21.38. Gustafson also competed in the 50-yard free, finishing third in 20.91.
The Vols continue competition this evening and concluding Monday with finals beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pacific each day.
