SANGER ADVANCES TO 3M FINALS AT SPEEDO NATIONAL DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.
University of Tennessee rising junior Lauryn McCalley (Moultrie, Ga.) placed 22nd in the 3m diving semifinals to miss the cut on Wednesday at the Speedo National Diving Championships, while former Lady Vol Jaime Sanger (Plymouth, Minn.) finished fifth to move on to the final round. McCalley put together a 205.89 to fall 192.81 points off of 19th-place Ally Hartzell's 398.70 final qualifying mark. Sanger, meanwhile, finished with a 442.50, just 29.58 points off of semifinal winner Sara Hildebrand's 472.08 effort.
This year's national championship meet will determine who represents the U.S. at competitions such as the Pan-American Games.
