TENNESSEE HEAD COACH BUZZ PETERSON: "Ikeakor and Holden broke the curfew rule. I told them it was a little bit selfish on their part. I don't have a lot of rules, but if they violate them, they won't play.
"Brandon Crump got the ball inside, and we tried to work a lot of different things with it. I just don't want him to relax on the defensive end. Jon Higgins needs to get more points than he does; he is not shooting the way I want him to, being a senior. I am looking for the killer instinct, but this team played passive in the second half.
"Give credit to the Latvia team. They kept fighting, and (LaMarque) Ward hit some big shots. We will take the tape, grade it, and look forward to opening against Gardner-Webb next Friday. I think we're about ready to play. Sunday we had the best practice of the year."
BC CESIS (LATVIA) HEAD COACH SIGARS MELDERIS: "We did not play such a bad game. Two of our centers couldn't get here, and stayed home. That's why there was so much pressure under the basket. That wasn't what we wanted. If our whole team had been here, we would have played better.
"South Carolina beat us underneath, and so did Tennessee. We played better here than at South Carolina, but both teams are at the same level. Tennessee is stronger than either of the other two teams we've played - Marshall or Bellarmine. We really played a bad game against Marshall (and lost by 40 points).
"This was our best game. I hope we will play better in the final two games - at Rhode Island and at Hartford. Then it's back home for us."
