Tennessee Swimming and Diving Defeats Georgia 128-115

The fourth-ranked University of Tennessee men's swimming and diving team remain undefeated by downing 13th-ranked Georgia in a dual meet Saturday afternoon in Athens, Ga. The Vols took the victory 128-115, and improved their season mark to 10-0.
Tennessee won seven out of the 13 events to edge past Georgia. The Vol winners included, Brett Tannhauser (200 Free), Andrew Bree (200 I.M.) and Renato Gueraldi (50 Free). The 400 freestyle relay team of Simpson, Burton, Parrish and Gueraldi, and the 200 medley relay team of Parrish, Stewart, Hoggatt and Burton also grabbed wins for the Vols.
Freshman Phillip Jones and his diving teammates Jake Dorsey and Sal Vilardo controlled the diving well. Jones claimed championship honors in both the one-meter and three-meter events. Dorsey and Vilardo both took home third place finishes, Dorsey in the one-meter and Vilardo in the three-meter.
"This was a great competition with great races and some really great swims," head coach John Trembley said. "We are now looking forward to finishing up at home with Florida and then we will prepare for the SECs and NCAAs."
The Vols will be back in action Feb. 2, to take on SEC foe Florida at the Student Aquatic Center. Admission is free.
