Vol Track Squad Hosts Tennessee Invitational Friday

Some of Tennessee’s highlights include Camron Howard trying to improve his provisional mark in the long jump at 3:40 p.m. At 4:15 p.m., Tyler Garrett will also try to improve his provisional mark in the shot put. At 5:20 p.m., Tennessee sprinters Leonard Scott, Justin Gatlin and Sean Lambert will line up for the 55M dash preliminaries. Additionally, Vol hurdlers Matt Rush, Hassaan Stamps and Karl Jennings will compete in the 55M hurdles preliminaries at 6:25 p.m. Former Vol Dawane Wallace, the second-fastest high hurdler in school history, is also slated to compete in the event. The pole vault should highlight the night’s field events as Rocky Danners looks to improve his provisional pole vault height. Additionally, 2000 Olympic silver medalist Lawrence Johnson and former Vol great Russell Johnson are also scheduled to compete in the event.
On the national list, Scott stands tied for first with Ja’Warren Hooker of Washington in the 60M dash (6.57) and 200M dash (20.80). Gatlin stands tied for third nationally in the 60M dash and fifth on the 200M dash list.
