* Louisville improved to 8-1 following tonight's win ... Tennessee drops to 5-4 on the season ... The Vols are 2-2 in road games this season ... Louisville now leads the series 8-7, but trail 5-4 in games played at Louisville ... UT is 0-2 at Freedom Hall ... Tonight's game was the first meeting between the two schools since a 1985 NIT semifinal matchup at Madison Square Garden which the Vols won 100-84.
* Vincent Yarbrough's 18 points led four Vols in double figures tonight ... Marcus Haislip (14), Ron Slay (14) and Brandon Crump (10) also scored double-digits ... Yarbrough also led the Vols with nine rebounds ... It was Haislip's third consecutive game scoring double figures since returning from academic suspension last Saturday at Memphis ... He has scored 14 points in each of the three games ... Tonight was Crump's fourth double-figure total of the season ... Crump connected on 5-of-8 from the field.
* Jon Higgins, who entered the game ranked fifth in the SEC in assists, dished out six against the Cardinals tonight ... Higgins also pulled down five rebounds, giving him 12 in the last two games.
* With one steal tonight, Yarbrough moved past Tyrone Beaman (173) to No. 2 on the Vols' all-time steal list with 174 ... Yarbrough is just four steals away from breaking Fred Jenkins' all-time UT mark of 177 set from 1983-87 ... Yarbrough also moved past Mike Edwards (1343) tonight into 15th on UT's all-time scoring list with 1356.
* Louisville made three consecutive 3-point field goals in the final 32 seconds during a decisive 9-2 run ... The Cardinals had made just 4-of-28 for the game prior, including 0-of-12 in the second half ... UT was just 3-of-14 from long-range.
* Louisville led 35-33 at halftime despite the Vols shooting 52 percent from the field in the first half ... The Cardinals attempted 75 shots from the field to the Vols' 58 ...
* The Vols' 21 turnovers tonight was one shy of their season-high set against St. John's (69-55 loss) at the Great Alaska Shootout ... Louisville recorded 13 steals.
* Tonight's game was the Vols' third in six days ... Saturday's game against West Virginia will complete the season's busiest stretch of four games in eight days ... Four of the Vols' starters played 30 or more minutes.
* Tennessee returns home Saturday to play West Virginia in a 1 p.m. tipoff ... The Vols are 3-0 at home this season and have won 38 consecutive non-conference games at Thompson-Boling Arena.
