Tennessee Head Coach Buzz Peterson
"Radford came in here and played aggressively. They always have a successful program in their conference. Dr. Bradley does a great job with them. This game worried me, coming between Memphis and Louisville. It reminded me a little of the football situation with LSU being between the Florida game and Rose Bowl national championship appearance.
"In a lot of ways, it was a frustrating night for Ron Slay. I was glad to see him come in and get those offensive rebounds late in the game. We need to take a tape of this game and show it to him to let him know what we need to him to do.
"I want to commend Thaydeus Holden. His effort on the defensive end in the second half was tremendous. We didn't allow many offensive rebounds in the second half and Thaydeus was the reason.
"At the half, I wanted to get after them. But I didn't. I told them to go out there and look at the game as two segments. Don't panic and I challenge you on the defensive end. We've got to be ready to go every single night. We needed not to have been thinking about last Saturday's game at Memphis and that tough loss.
Radford Head Coach Dr. Ron Bradley
"We're searching for a new identity since we lost our senior point guard. Coming in, we wanted to be tough and, with our big lineup, we wanted to get the ball inside. We didn't win. I don't feel good at all. The game is 40 minutes long, not 36. There are no moral victories. The lack of depth hurt us. We'd like to have as many veterans out there as we can. I told the guys we should have won this game. In the first 36 minutes, the changes we made kicked in. We have four days of preparation before we play East Carolina."
