FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -
The University of Tennessee women's diving squad wrapped up action at the Arkansas Invitational with the 10-meter platform competition at the Arkansas Natatorium on Saturday.
Sophomore Kylee Wells (Russiaville, Ind.), an All-American on the platform last year, finished second with a score of 348.30 behind Arkansas' Katerina Kordioukouva who tallied 354.30. Tennessee junior Stacy Binyon (Southlake, Texas) finished fourth with a mark of 297.50 behind Florida's Sarah Close in third with a score of 338.10. Arkansas' Mandy Moore rounded out the field in fifth with 282.20.
"I was a little disappointed in the performances today as I would have liked to have seen a little more consistency and aggressiveness on the platform," UT diving coach Dave Parrington said. "Once again, though, the purpose of this meet was to become familiar with the site of the 2002 SEC Championships and it proved to be useful. This is a tough place to dive and perhaps that was reflected in our performances today."
The Arkansas Invitational wraps up the 2001 portion of the Lady Vols' schedule. Following a winter training trip, Tennessee will return to action at the Georgia Diving Invitational over the weekend of Jan. 4-6.
