Diving Vols Set to Compete in Arkansas Invitational

The Tennessee diving squad will compete in the 2001 Arkansas Invitational Thursday-Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
The diving competition starts Thursday afternoon at 3:30 with the three-meter springboard diving. On Friday the one-meter springboard competition begins at 1 p.m. The final event of the Invitational will be the 10-meter platform that starts Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Phillip Jones is coming off two second place finishes and a first place finish at the Indiana Diving Invitational. Jones dove to a career best score of 577.60 in the three-meter event. His teammates Sal Vilardo and Jake Dorsey also dove to career bests with Vilardo scoring 511.90 and Dorsey scoring 486.90.
"We are excited about going against some quality competition," head diving coach Dave Parrington said. "We are also looking forward to competing at the site were our conference championships are being held."
