Vol Golfers Set to Compete in Carpet Capital Collegiate

The University of Tennessee golf team will be competing in the 2001 Carpet Capital Collegiate in Dalton, Ga., Oct. 5-7. The Carpet Capital Collegiate, regarded as one of the top collegiate tournaments each year, will be played at The Farm Golf Club (Par 72, 6,906 yards).
The field for this year's tournament includes defending NCAA champion Florida, as well as defending tournament champion and host Georgia Tech. Other squads the Vols will compete against include Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Clemson, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Augusta State, East Tennessee State, UCLA and UNLV.
The Vols finished tied for ninth at last year's Carpet Capital Collegiate with scores of 292-291-313--896. The tournament will be played with a 54-hole format, played over three days.
