The University of Tennessee rowing team started off their sixth season in grand fashion as they finished first in all four races they competed in at the Chattanooga Head Race. Rounding out the medals sweep was the Lopez and Newton combination who recorded a time of 16:23.14.
With two of three varsity races out of the way it was time for the novice rowers to hit the water. The novice shells proved they were just as powerful as their varsity teammates as they captured the first two slots. Less than one second behind was the shell consisting of Kristin Clark, Candice Scheffing, Emily Allen, Hilary Gilmore, Heather Marshall, Melissa DiCerbo, Shena Weaver, Shaina Frank who finished in 14:21.31.
The last race of the day for the Lady Vols was the Championships 4+ and again the Orange and White left the other teams looking for some hardware to bring home. The McMahon, Logan, Bargreen, Harrington and Pemberton combination brought home gold in a time of 13:54.48. Lizzie Brown, Montgomery, Kraiss, BeVille and McIntosh all rowed together to capture silver medals at a clip of 14.14.98.
