Chuck Vogel - Administrative Assistant

Chuck Vogel begins his second year as the administrative assistant for men's track and field teams. His responsibilities include coordinating the travel schedules, budgeting and purchasing the equipment for the Vols.
Vogel joins the Tennessee staff after having spent the previous three years as a paralegal with Faruki, Gilliam and Ireland, PLL, a Dayton, Ohio-based law firm specializing in corporate litigation.
Prior to that he was the head men's cross country and track coach at the Division I University of Dayton for six years. When Vogel was hired in 1992 at the age of 23, he became one of the youngest Division I head coaches in the history of the NCAA. During his tenure at Dayton, Vogel's harrier squads showed consistent improvement, eventually winning several meets and being highly competitive in the talent-laiden Atlantic 10 Conference. Vogel boasts a 100 percent graduation rate of his athletes during the six years at Dayton and three of his teams earned All-Academic Team Awards (team cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater) with the 1997 squad ranking fourth out of all Division I programs in the country (3.37 GPA).
Vogel graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1990 with a BA in Political Science and Music Theory. He competed in track and cross country for the Irish. Vogel is currently working towards a master's degree in Sports Management at Tennessee. He hails from Dayton, Ohio and is single.
