Tennessee Swimmers Compete At Bulldog Invitational

Seven Volunteers competed on Friday in four events. Chris Stewart posted the only NCAA qualifying time on the evening in the 100 breaststroke. Stewart's time of 55.15 was good for second place.
Steve Cromer posted season-best in the 500 freestyle in finishing third with a time of 4:32.99. Jason Baxter was just .41 seconds short of the 200 individual medley provisional qualifying time with his time of 1:50.78. Baxter finished second in the event.
Four Vols competed in the 50 freestyle with sophomore Justin Hoggatt taking second place with a time of 20.52. Nick Lakin finished sixth with a time of 20.84, Chris Johnson was tenth with 21.00 and Joel Wallace was 15th with a time of 21.79.
The Bulldog Invitational will conclude on Saturday. Next up for the Vol divers are the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in Auburn, Ala. The top finishers at that meet will move on to the NCAA Championships. The NCAA Championships will be held on Mar. 23-25 in Minneapolis, Minn.
