Vols Finish First Day of Kroger Invitational

"We're glad to get some people qualified for the finals," head coach Bill Webb said. "We ran better in the distance medley relay. We're looking for a big day tomorrow."
Leonard Scott qualified for Saturday's 60M dash finals by cruising to a preliminary time of 6.84 and finishing seventh. Matt Rush tied his career-best effort by covering the 60M hurdles in 7.96 seconds to place third and qualify for the finals on Saturday.
Tennessee's distance medley relay team (Marcus Tanner, Jebreh Harris, Adrian Wheatley and Anthony Famiglietti) took second by breaking the tape in 9:46.75, just one second behind a NCAA provisional qualifying time. Jon Jamison ran to third in the 5000M run in 14:54.28. Rondell Mershon recorded his indoor career-best triple jump of 48-10 to finish seventh.
