Also, Vols pitching coach Randy Mazey will provide instruction. Many top college and high school coaches from the Southeast will be part of the camp staff. CAMP RATIO Player to coach ratio will be 10 to 1 for each camp. POSITION PLAY Each camper will be given the opportunity to work at any position they wish. Infielders - Ready position, charging ground, balls, fielding techniques, proper footwork, forehands and back hands, double plays, feeds and pivots, slow rollers and the mental part of infield play. Outfielders - Proper reaction, ready position, drop steps, communication, cut-angles and throwing mechanics. Pitchers - Pitching mechanics, grips for various pitches, pick-off moves, fielding your position and bullpen work along with the mental part of pitching. Catchers - Leadership, setup, receiving, framing, blocking and footwork for throwing. HITTING All campers will go through two afternoons and one optional evening of intensified hitting instruction and drills. CAMP INSTRUCTION Each camper will receive the same instruction that has enabled Coach Delmonico and his staff to lead the Vols to one of the winningest baseball programs in the nation. Under Delmonico, the Vols have made 5 regional appearances, won Southeastern Conference Championships in 1994 and 1995, 4 Eastern Division Championships, and a 3rd place finish in the 1995 College World Series. REGISTRATION All campers should pre-register using the application form. Registration or check in will be Wednesday, Dec. 27 beginning at 8 a.m. and Friday, Dec. 29, at 8 a.m. on the upper level of Stokely Athletic Center. For groups of 5 or more camp price is $125. Groups MUST send all applications at one time and go through registration as a group. There will be no additions or deletions to groups after the applications are received. A $50 deposit must accompany this application. Please note: There will be a $50 administration fee for any cancellations. During the camp for ages 13- 2001 seniors, Coach Delmonico and Coach Simcox will speak to the parents about "Recruiting the High School Baseball Player". PARENT-SON CAMP Our staff encourages parents to attend the camp with their son. Parents can attend and listen and observe at no additional charge.
