Lady Vol Divers Wrapped Up One-Meter Competition at Texas

Jaime Sanger takes top slot on team for second day AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Tennessee Lady Vol divers concluded one-meter springboard competition at the Texas All-American Diving Invitational on Thursday, Jan. 6, in Austin, Texas. Three Lady Vols, freshman Jaime Sanger, sophomore Bethany Minser and junior Lizzy Flynt, all advanced to the semi finals but fell short of the final round.
Sanger was the top Lady Vol for the second day at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center. She finished in 12th place on the one-meter with a semifinal score of 365.65. She was followed by Minser, who finished 13th and recorded a season-best score of 364.20. Flynt was the final Lady Vol to step into the semis where she placed 15th with a score of 356.45. Rounding out the Tennessee lineup were freshmen Stacy Binyon in 31st (162.05, five dives) and Angela Harms in 37th (150.45, five dives) in the field of 44 competitors. Louisiana State's Jamie Watkins earned her second win of the meet, recording a score of 425.85 on the one-meter for first place. She also finished on top of the three-meter list.
The Lady Vols will return to the boards on Friday as open competition begins at 9:30 a.m. CT and runs throughout the day. The meet concludes on Sunday with platform diving.
