UT Wraps Up Play At UK Fall Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Tennessee Lady Vol tennis team concluded play at the UK Fall Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 31) at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center in Lexington, Ky.
Competing for the Orange and White on the final day were junior Catherine Hall (Boone, N.C./Watauga), sophomore Meiling Parks (Abilene, Texas/St. Stephen's Episcopal) and freshman Amy Bartlett (Powder Springs, Ga./John MacEachern). In singles competition, Parks netted a 6-0, 6-1, decision over Amy Trocewicz of Cincinnati. Hall won her singles contest as she edged Jenny Wallace of Abilene Christian, 6-3, 6-0, while Bartlett fell 6-0, 6-1 to Leah Ticer of Abilene Christian.
In doubles, Parks who teamed with UK's Jill Buckley dropped a 8-6 decision to Sarah Witten and Carolina Mayorga of Kentucky in the winner's bracket semifinals. In Tennessee's other doubles match, Hall and Bartlett defeated Wallace and Kristen Chumley of Abilene Christian, 8-1.
The Lady Vols will next be in action when they round out the fall portion of their schedule when they compete at the ITA Regional in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Nov. 5-8.
