
UT Posts PRs in 5K at Husky Classic

SEATTLE -- Facing a loaded field in the 5,000-meter races on Friday at the Husky Classic, Tennessee posted three personal bests at Dempsey Indoor.
In the women's 5,000 meters, sophomore Megan Murray took 45th with a time of 17:04.49 in her first collegiate indoor 5K. Tennessee legend Chelsea Blaase, running for Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project, finished fourth with a time of 15:40.80.
Senior Andre Hillsman shaved 44 seconds off of his previous career best, finishing 58th in the men's 5,000 meters at 14:38.10. Senior Nick Brey took 12 seconds off his previous career best with a time of 14:43.50 to finish 64th. Junior Wesley Robinson took 78th, clocking in at 15:05.70.
Six more Tennessee distance runners will be in action on Saturday, starting with freshman Abigail Smith in the second section of the women's 3,000 meters. Junior Zach Long will end the day for UT as he is in the fifth section of the men's 3,000 meters.
