Tennessee Tidbits
- Tennessee's all-time record is 833-382-53. UT is 463-127-17 all-time at Neyland Stadium. UT ranks ninth all-time in wins among NCAA Division I programs.
- Tennessee legendary announcer John Ward was honored on the field in the first quarter. UT also recognized VFLs and NFL Vols Eric Berry and Jalen Reeves-Maybin on the field early in the game.

Ironman Vickers Wraps Up Career with 38th Straight Start
- Redshirt senior Kendal Vickers capped his career by starting his 38th consecutive game at defensive tackle for the Vols.
- In addition, Vickers was the only Vol to serve as a captain for every game in 2017. The Havelock, N.C., native wrapped up his career by playing in 43 games and started every game of his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
Wolf Ranks Among All-Time Great Tennessee Tight Ends
- On UT's opening possession, Ethan Wolf caught a seven-yard pass from Jarrett Guarantano, giving him 978 career receiving yards. He currently ranks third on UT's all-time receiving yardage list among tight ends.
- That third quarter reception was the 90th catch of Wolf's career, making him the second Vol tight end to record 90 receptions in a career. Only Reggie Harper (98 receptions from 1977-80) had more.
- Only Reggie Harper (1,141 yards from 1977-80) and Mychal Rivera (1,018 from 2010-12) have more receiving yards among Tennessee tight ends.
Daniel Breaks 35-year-old Single-Season Punting Mark, Owns Career Mark, Too
- Redshirt senior punter Trevor Daniel wrapped up his career by setting the Tennessee punting average for a single season (47.5) and for a career (45.9). The former walk-on from Dickson, Tenn., bettered the previous single-season mark of 46.9 – set in 1982 by Jimmy Colquitt. Daniel's career mark of 45.9 also breaks Jimmy Colquitt's career mark of 43.9 (1981-84).
- Season: 70 punts, 3,323 yards, 47.5 average
- Career: 200 punts, 9,185 yards, 45.9 average
Vol Captains/Coin Toss
- The Tennessee team captains redshirt senior defensive tackle Kendal Vickers, redshirt senior punter Trevor Daniel, senior tight end Ethan Wolf and junior safety Micah Abernathy.
- Vanderbilt won coin toss and chose to defer to receive in the second half.
- UT is 8-5 on coin tosses this season (7-5 on pregame coin tosses and 1-0 in overtime).
- In 2016, Tennessee won six out of 15 coin tosses, including six out of 13 pregame. The Vols did not win either of their two coin tosses in overtime. UT was 3-3 in 2016 when winning the pregame coin toss.
Tennessee-Vanderbilt Notes
- This year's game marked the 111th all-time meeting between Tennessee and Vanderbilt. UT is 75-31-5 all-time against Vanderbilt and the Vols have won two of the last four matchups. Tennessee is 38-12-1 against the Commodores when the game is played in Knoxville.
- UT has won 31 of its last 36 games against Vanderbilt, including a 22-game winning streak in the series from 1983-2004.
Senior Day
- Tennessee honored 22 seniors before Saturday's game.
- The 18 scholarship seniors honored included Elliott Berry, Evan Berry, Trevor Daniel, Jeff George, Jakob Johnson, Jack Jones, Colton Jumper, Brett Kendrick, Justin Martin, Cortez McDowell, Aaron Medley, Emmanuel Moseley, Jashon Robertson, Josh Smith, Coleman Thomas, Kendal Vickers, Shaq Wiggins and Ethan Wolf.
- UT honored walk-on seniors Logan Fetzner, Holden Foster, Parker Henry and Thomas Orradre.
Offensive Notes
- FIRST HALF STATS: Tennessee gained 149 yards of offense in the first half (103 passing, 45 rushing). Jarrett Guarantano was 7-for-10 for 103 yards and one touchdown. Ty Chandler had three rushes for 19 yards, John Kelly had seven rushes for 18 yards and one touchdown and Carlin Fils-aime had one rush for 17 yards. Brandon Johnson led UT's receivers with four catches for 76 yards.
- Tennessee scored on its opening drive when Jarrett Guarantano hit Marquez Callaway for a two-yard touchdown pass, completing a nine-play, 85-yard drive.
- John Kelly leaped over the goal line for a one-yard score to cap UT's second drive of the game, which covered 75 yards in six plays. After an extra point, UT led 14-7.
Defensive Notes
- FIRST HALF STATS: UT's defense gave up 237 yards in the first half (175 passing, 62 rushing). Rashaan Gaulden led the Vols with five tackles and one pass breakup in the first half. Justin Martin, Quart'e Sapp, Micah Abernathy and Daniel Bituli each had four tackles.
- UT's defense came up with a big fourth-down stop on Vanderbilt's first possession of the second half. Kyle Shurmur's pass for Caleb Scott was incomplete on 4th-and-3, halting the Commodores seven-play, 30-yard drive at the UT 38.
- The Tennessee defense made another fourth-down stop on Vandy's next possession. On 4th-and-1 from the UT 39, Alexis Johnson and Kendal Vickers stuffed Shurmur for no gain. After a review it was confirmed that Shurmur did not reach the first-down marker.
- With 1:12 left in the third quarter, Johnathan Kongbo brought down Shurmur for a five-yard sack on 1st-and-5. Kongbo now has 2.5 sacks on the season. He had half of a sack against LSU.
Special Teams Highlights
- FIRST HALF STATS: Trevor Daniel had two punts for 86 yards (43.0 average) with one inside the 20.
- With 5:22 left in the third quarter, senior kicker Aaron Medley made a career-long 49-yard field goal to bring the Vols to within 21-17.
Upon Further Review
- In the second quarter, John Kelly ran for one yard on 3rd-and-1 at the UT 28. After a review, it was determined that Kelly was down before reaching the first-down marker. REVERSED.
- The Tennessee defense made another fourth-down stop on Vandy's next possession. On 4th-and-1 from the UT 39, Alexis Johnson and Kendal Vickers stuffed Shurmur for no gain. After a review it was confirmed that Shurmur did not reach the first-down marker. CONFIRMED.
