TENNESSEE TIDBITS
- Tennessee brings its season-opening 10-match road trip to a close this weekend following three matches at the Coastal Carolina Tournament.
- The tournament also completes a stretch of seven matches in nine days for the Lady Vols. UT is 1-3 so far over that span and earned a 3-1 win over Evansville in its last match.
- Tennessee has never met Kennesaw State or Loyola Maryland, but is facing Coastal Carolina for the second straight season. The two programs made their initial meeting last season at the Tennessee Invitational.
- Last year's victory over Coastal Carolina was a momunental one for Tennessee head coach Rob Patrick. The victory was the 350th in Patrick's distinguished career.
- Five players on UT's roster have 30+ kills through seven matches this season. Sophomore Jamie Lea leads the team with 61.
- Four freshman have also played 15+ sets so far in the early season. Two, Iesha Bryant and Kanisha Jimenez, have started every match.
- As a freshman, Bryant leads the Lady Vols in total blocks at 31. Her 1.35 blocks per game are good for third in the SEC and 22nd in the nation.
