KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee senior Nathan Grace thought his final collegiate season had come to a close. A phone call from the NCAA to UT Director of Track & Field J.J. Clark changed that on Saturday.
Due to a scratch from the meet by another school's athlete, Grace learned from Clark that he has moved into the East's top 48 in the 200-meter dash and will join eight other Vols at the NCAA East Preliminary Round meet in Bloomington, Ind., May 26-28. The product of Knoxville's Bearden High School enters a mark of 21.29 that he recorded in the prelims of the SEC Outdoor Championships on May 13.
Grace and the rest of the Tennessee contingent will depart Wednesday. He will be in action in the quarterfinal round of the 200 on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
