Vol Divers Compete in Georgia Diving Invitational

Tennessee freshman Phillip Jones took first place honors in the three-meter diving competition Friday, to open the Georgia Diving Invitational in Athens, Ga.
Jones scored 554.20 points and took top honors after outdistancing himself from Auburn's Matt Bricker, who scored 532.20 points. Jake Dorsey rounded out the Vols scoring with a 12th place finish with 420.30 points.
"I'm quite happy with our performance," head diving coach Dave Parrington said. "I felt we had a good day of diving and we are excited about tomorrow."
The diving Vols will continue the Georgia Diving Invitational with the one-meter event tomorrow, starting at 11 a.m.
