Location

The Tennessee Track & Speed Camps are held on the beautiful University of Tennessee campus utilizing the world-class Tom Black Track.

About the Camp Directors
	George Watts has coached distance and cross country at Tennessee for 17 years. He has coached numerous SEC Champions and All-Americans, including Olympians Jose Parilla(800m) and Todd Williams(10k). Watts was Southeastern Conference Champion at 10k and a Cross Country All-American during his career as a Vol.
	Vince Anderson has coached sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps at Tennessee for 14 years. In that time he has coached 10 SEC Champions and 25 All-Americans in nine events.

Our objective is to make it a FUN week. We do work hard and teach you a lot. We will coach you and refine your skills if you are a more advanced athlete.

About the Camp

The Tennessee Track & Field Camp is conducted by UT Track Coaches

and a staff of outstanding Vol & Lady Vol athletes.

It is designed for boys and girls ages 10 to seniors in high school. The camp will improve performances for all levels of athletes, from beginners to the elite junior athlete preparing for a summer Junior Olympic competition. We will improve an athlete's speed, agility and jumping for other sports, too.

Special attention will be placed on teaching and developing the proper running, jumping and throwing fundamentals.

Costs

Cost for the Day Camp in June will be $210. Cost for the Overnight Camp will be $320. A $100 for Day Camp non-refundable deposit and a $150 for Overnight Camp non-refundable deposit must accompany all applications to reserve a space. Space is limited and is on a first come first served basis. The balance will be due upon arrival at camp.

Registration

When we receive your application, you will be mailed further information concerning registration details. To secure our spot at camp, and allow time for processing, please submit your application and deposit to us postmarked by June 17, 2002.

Meals

Overnight campers will receive Dinner on Sunday, Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner Monday through Wednesday and breakfast on Thursday. Day campers will receive Lunch Monday through Wednesday.

Accomodations

Overnight campers will be housed two to a room in an air-conditioned dormitory on campus. Campers will have coaches living on the floors with them and will be under constant supervision.
LOST KEYS: A key to the dormitory room will be issued to each camper. A fee of $25 will be charged for lost keys.

Equipment Needed

(please mark all equipment)

Overnight campers need towels, pillows and bed linens for single bed (blanket, etc.)
Practice gear, shorts, shoes, shirts, sunscreen and toilet articles. Bring specialty spikes and shoes if you have them.
Alarm clock, swimsuit, spending money ($40 should be sufficient for overnight campers.)
Casual clothes (jeans, shorts for free time wear)
Change for game room and concession stand.
If you are a pole vaulter, we have some poles, but we do recommend that you bring your own if possible.

Insurance / Medical Care

Insurance coverage is provided by the camp and is included in the camp tuition fee. A doctor is on call and hospital and student health facilities are readily accesible. Because of the rigorous daily schedule, each camper should come to camp in top physical condition. Every conceivable effort is made to protect each camper's health and safety through training of staff, constant inspections of equipment and instructions of campers.

The daily schedule is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

9:30 a.m.	Event Instruction -- First Session
11:30 a.m.	Break for Lunch
1:30 p.m.	*Lecture
2:00 p.m.	Event Instruction -- Second Session
3:45 p.m.	Break -- Leave Track
4:00 p.m.	Free Time (pool, rest, etc.)
5:30 p.m.	Dinner
7:00 p.m.	Evening Activity (bowling, movies, etc.)
10:30 p.m.	Report to your floor for lights out
11:00 p.m.	Lights Out
*Lecture topics include strength training, motivation and nutrician for top performance.

Check In

For Overnight Camp and Day Camp will be at a UT Residence Hall to be announced. The time for check in is between 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 27.

Check Out

Check out will be at 11:30 a.m. on the final day of camp - Thursday, June 27.

Pickup during these hours at the same place as registration.
