Tennessee's swimming and diving squad holds its 24th annual Orange and White Meet Thursday, Oct. 4 at the UT Student Aquatic Center.
The Vols will be divided into groups forming an Orange team and a White team. Events scheduled are the 400 medley relay, 1000 free, 200 free, 50 free, 200 IM, 1-meter diving, 200 fly, 100 free, 200 back, 500 free, 3-meter diving, 200 breast and the 400 free relay. The White team leads in the overall meetings, 13-10.
Head coach John Trembley's team is coming off a great 2001 season that saw the Vols upset No. 1-ranked Texas in a January dual meet at the SAC and a No. 3 finish at last year's NCAA Championships at College Station, Texas.
Last year's No. 3 finish was the Volunteers' best under coach John Trembley and the program's best since the 1978 squad won the national title. Trembley has lead the Vols to 12 Top 10 finishes in his 13 seasons as head coach of the Vols, including five Top 5 NCAA finishes.
The 2001 Orange & White Meet begins at 3 p.m. and admission is free.
