Lady Vol Divers Compete At Senior National Championship

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. ----- Three current University of Tennessee women's divers and one future Lady Vol wrapped up competition Friday at the 2000 U.S. National Outdoor National Diving Championships held in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Rising senior Lizzy Flynt led the way for the Lady Vols as she advanced to the semifinals of both the 10-meter platform and the 3-meter springboard. Flynt, a native of Auburn, Ala., finished 16th in both the platform and the 3m competitions. On the platform, she recorded a score of 363.54 while scoring a 417.99 on the 3-meter. Teammate Jaime Sanger, a sophomore from Plymouth, Minn., also competed on the 3-meter where she finished 14th with a score of 424.80 in the semifinals. On the 1-meter, she finished 19th with a mark of 204.09 and did not advance past the preliminaries.
Sophomore Stacy Binyon, a native of Southlake, Texas, finished 25th in the preliminaries of the platform with a score of 161.88. Future Lady Vol Kylee Wells of Russiaville, Ind., finished 23rd on the platform with a score of 173.61 in the preliminaries.
